Lebanese singer Marwa
Lebanese Singer Marwa has expressed a strong aversion to the idea of appearing nude in her artistic works. Noting her more modest clothing, she confirmed that future roles would be in keeping with such attire.
In a film being shot currently, “Dr. Silicon,” Marwa plays the role of a doctor at a beauty center. The comedy’s plot revolves around the phenomenon of cosmetic surgery and the danger it poses to the individual and society. It is the work of writer Khaled Hasouna and director Ahmed Al-Badri, with actors Hassan Hosni, Nermin Al-Fiqi, and Diaa Al-Merghani joining main star Marwa, according to MBC.net.
Marwa confirmed that she does not appear nude in the film. Her role in “Dr. Silicon” differs from that she played in “Haha and the Apple,” in which she starred alongside Talaat Zakaria and Yasmin Abdel Aziz.
On another matter, Marwa claimed she was not affected by the decision by the head of the Egyptian Actors Syndicate, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, to limit work in Egypt by non-Egyptian Arab artists. Under this decision, these artists may appear in no more than one Egyptian work per year. Marwa emphasized that the group producing her films is responsible for dealing with such matters, and in any case she is a singer and not an actress.
