Iraqi local soccer match
The Iraqi Soccer Federation, taking into account an opinion poll of the representatives of Al-Naft and Kirkuk soccer clubs, has decided to schedule two matches in Baghdad between the teams on the 3rd and 6th of June.
The federation has resolved that the matches will take place in two of three stadiums, from among the National People’s Stadium, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Stadium, and Al-Kharkh Stadium. They will determine which of the three will host the games based on their readiness.
The winner of the two games will join the elite teams of Iraq at a federation ceremony on June 19, 2008. The event will take place at the meeting hall of the Iraqi Olympic Committee.
Al-Naft is in fourth place in the Southern Division. They currently trail behind Karbala in the lead, Najaf, and Al-Mina', in second and third places respectively. Kirkuk is the fourth place team in the Northern Division, behind Erbil, Dohuk, and Barees.

In related news, the following teams were disqualified from the top tier rankings: Al-Jaysh, Al-Shoulah, and Al-Adallah (Central Division), Al-Furat, Al-Shatra (Southern Division), Zakho, and Mosul (Northern Division).
