After a number of successful collaborations with various Arab music greats, Syrian singer Ruwaida Attieh expressed her hopes of collaborating with the Sultan of Song George Wassouf, explaining that that she is a star attempting to break through and grow among the greats, such as George Wassouf. She added that he is close to her heart and she loves his voice and songs.
As reported by the MBC website, Ruwaida has collaborated with some of the greatest stars of Arab music, most prominently the great artist Wadih El-Safi, who chose her for a duet titled “Haida Lubnan.” This song was recently made into a music video. Ruwaida also did a duet with the star Assi Al-Hillani, titled “Sahra Al-Sharq.” A music video for the song, directed by Adel Sarhan, is expected soon.
In another matter, Ruwaida denied that she turns to Turkish stars to collaborate on her music videos, in the way that artist Rula Saad did with Turkish star Mohanad or Diana Karzon did with Asmar. She did, however, note that were she to collaborate with someone for one of her videos, she would choose Syrian star Taim Hassan, due to his charm and popularity.
Regarding her relations with former colleagues from the program “Superstar,” Ruwaida acknowledged that she has cut relations with all of these former collaborators, with the exception of Kuwaiti Mohammed Lafi and Egyptian Wael Mansour. She attributed this to each one being far from one another and engaged in their own projects.
